Reports to: Director of Field Operations
Position Summary: The Energy Auditor/Energy Initiatives Associate will support both the development and the on going management of the CPC Green initiative, a loan program focused on making occupied properties financed by CPC energy efficient through building retrofits as well performing Energy Audits required by the CPC Weatherization Program’s compliance standards as established by the State of New York.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Assist in the training and support of the loan origination staff to benchmark energy usage on properties and in the identification of retrofit work scope items via physical inspection of properties,
• Assist in the bidding, coordination and execution of energy audits for CPC’s buildings throughout the state,
• Assists in completing the audit for final review and sign off by designated party,
• Support the creation and implementation of Energy Usage Benchmark tools which can be used by the mortgage staff in evaluation of a property and in communication with owners,
• Support the development of a database to house all of CPC’s before and after energy usage data,
• Interface with the Communications Department to drive education through the CPC website to property owners creating awareness and demand for CPC’s products.
Knowledge and Experience:
• In depth working knowledge of construction, particularly in multifamily buildings, with knowledge of utility rate structures, energy conservation principles and techniques,
• BPI certification as a Building Analyst or a Multifamily Building Analyst,
• Proven track record in energy use analysis and in preparation of energy saving calculations complete with payback analyses, report preparation and business development,
• Knowledgeable regarding new and emerging trends in the area of energy efficiency,
• Knowledge of utility information systems, energy management technologies and metering. Proficient computer skills including the use of spreadsheets, especially Excel and other database applications are required,
• Ability to travel within New York State with some overnight stays required,
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or similar building related degrees is preferred or comparable work experience will be considered.
